Harley “Bud” Glenroy Erwin Jr, 59, of Hilliard passed away November 1st, 2015.
Bud grew up in Irvine, Kentucky and graduated with the Class of 1975 at Estill County High School. While he excelled in every sport, basketball was his ultimate passion. He received a scholarship to play basketball at Oklahoma Seminole Jr College. Eventually, he transferred closer to home to Eastern Kentucky and then Berea College. Afterwards, he served four and a half years as a Corporal in the Kentucky Army National Guard.
Bud was employed by the United States Postal Service for 16 years as a truck driver and then a mail handler. He spent his free time playing softball, bowling, fishing, hunting, camping, golfing, throwing darts, shooting pool, cooking, and making everyone laugh.
Everything aside, Bud loved nothing more than his three girls; his wife of 28 years, Gail and his daughters, Haylee (Dannen D’Arcy) and Hannah. He was preceded in death, by his father, Harley and sister, Janet; survived by his mother, Mary; siblings, Sherrie (Mark) Wiseman, Mark, Jonah Estes, Becky (Charlie) Petty, and a large extended family.
In lieu of flowers, any contributions can be sent to the Estill County Schools Central Office Athletics Department. PO Box 930, Irvine, KY 40336.
