Harold Marion Griffith, 85, of Hilliard, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2009 at his home. Born in Coalton, OH on August 20, 1923 to Daniel and Margaret “Farmer” Griffith in a family of 14 children. Harold was an Air Force Veteran of WWII and a member of the 344th B26 Marauder WWII Bomb Group Association and the American Legion. He retired from General Motors after 32 years as a general foreman. He was also a member of the Northwest Bible Church. Always strong and hard-working, Harold touched many lives with his help and generosity. He leaves behind many devoted friends. He is preceded in death by son, Tommy; brothers, Arthur, Millard, and Robert; sisters, Ida Bolton, Lucille Arledge, Romola Newman, Martha Brewer, Ruth Matthews, Marcella Stanford, and Lula Boyles. He is survived by loving wife of 22 years, Janice “Ewing” Griffith; daughter, Susie (Rick) Conrad of Dublin, OH; sons, George (Linda) Griffith of Rochester Hills, MI, and John Griffith of East Lansing, MI; stepdaughters; Janel (Ryan) Chapman of Hilliard, OH and Wendy (John) Dingman of Burton, OH; ten grandchildren; Jerry (Gina) Griffith, Darin (Emily) Griffith, Lauren (Mickey) MacNeil, Jessica Griffith and Sam Griffith all of MI, Katie and Emily Dingman and Andrew, Elizabeth, and Benjamin Chapman all of OH; two great-grandchildren, Guenevere and Gabriel Griffith of MI; brother, Virgil Griffith; and sister, Monalee Huffman. Friends may call Sunday from 2-5pm at THE TIDD FUNERAL HOME 5265 Norwich St. Hilliard, OH 43026. A funeral service will be held 10am Monday at The Northwest Bible Church 6639 Scioto Darby Rd, Hilliard, OH with Pastor Ken Harrell officiating. Interment Sunset Cemetery.
