Harry Q. Smith

Harry Q. Smith, age 87, of Hilliard, passed away Friday, January 04, 2013. Longtime member of Hilliard United Methodist Church since 1961; where he served on numerous committees. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII, a member of Hilliard Lion’s Club since 1952 and also Northwest Franklin County Historical Society. Retired from Education after 41 years of which 29 years in Hilliard City Schools; where he was a Jr. High School Principal, High School math teacher and counselor. Preceded in death by loving wife Joan who passed away November 28, 1994 and sister Goldie Smith. Survived by sons Stephen Roe (Kathryn) Smith of Hilliard and Randolph Quentin (Barbara) Smith of Hilliard, brothers Howard, Charles and Roe Smith, sister Betty Pauley, grandchildren Beth (Scott) Forney, Jeff Smith, Autumn Smith, Shawn Smith and David Smith, great grandchildren Tyler, Chase and Morgan Forney, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 pm Monday at the TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026. A funeral service will be held 11 am Tuesday at the Hilliard United Methodist Church, 3691 Main St., Hilliard, OH 43026; with visitation 1 hour prior to the time or service.
