Helen Ransom

Helen Marie (Stevens) English-Ransom was born to Fremont and Marie Stevens, January 25, 1935 in Nelsonville, OH. Helen departed this life on December 5, 2014. She was employed by Nationwide Insurance for one year, then Retired after 34 years with the U.S, Government, Columbus, OH. She is survived by devoted and loving husband, Kenneth Ransom, whom she married May 2, 1998; daughters, Diann Harris, Brenda English, and Earline Ross; sons, Shawn (Jennifer), and Earl English, Howard (Curteen) Carrington, Columbus, OH area and Donnell Carrington, Conroe, Texas. Remaining are sister-in- laws, Loretta Cobbs, Valerise Ransom, Evelyn Williams, and Thelma Choto; brothers-in-laws, Don, Ray (Carole) and Robert English; 12 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; two great-great-grand children; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Helen was a graduate of Rutland High School, and a Meigs County 4-H Club member. She was a Girl Scout leader who loved to read and camp. Helen also served as membership manager for the Midwest Saponi Indian Nation. She was a member of the Church of Christ since age 18. Preceded in death by parents Langsville, Ohio, brothers David Raymond and Earl Stevens, son-in-law Herbert Harris, daughter-in-law Denise English and first husband Earlie English. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 10, 2014, at the Genesse Avenue Church of Christ, 1889 Genessee Ave. Columbus, 43211 beginning at 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Minister Brother Clyde Sales officiating.
