Helen Shier

Helen M. Shier, age 89, of Dublin, died Wednesday April 4, 2007 at Mt. Carmel West Hospital. Born February 13, 1918 in Minier, Illinois. Graduate of New California High School class of 1936. She worked on the election board for 50 years and was a former secretary/treasurer of New California/ Jerome Alumni. Member of St. John Lutheran Church of Dublin, where she was an active volunteer. Preceded in death by parents Michael and Marie Schacherbauer, husband Carl H. Shier, brother Paul Schacherbauer, and sister Mary Ann Parrott. Survived by children Walter (Carol) Shier, Mary Ann (William) Sorden, Robert (Linda) Shier, Mark (Rene) Shier, 14 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, brother Lee (Mary Alice) Schacherbauer, sister in law Freda Mueller, and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Family will receive friends 1-5 pm Friday at the TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard. Funeral service will be held 10 am Saturday at the St. John Lutheran Church, 6135 Rings Rd., Dublin, OH 43016 where family will receive friends prior to the time of service with Rev. John Greig officiating. Interment Wesley Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may made to the St. John Lutheran Church Building Fund, 6135 Rings Rd., Dublin, OH 43016.
