Henry Kelly Conklin, of Hilliard, OH, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2007 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Born July 1, 1923 in Delaware Co., Ohio. Preceded in death by father William Henry Conklin, mother Calista Kelly Guss, brother William Conklin, and step mother Molean Conklin. Survived by loving wife Mary Kathryn (Slyh) Conklin, daughter Connie (Douglas) Weakley of Plain City, sons Dr. Ronald Kelly (Judy) Conklin of Grove City and Dean Henry Conklin of Denver, Co., granddaughters Carrie (Dr. Mark) Hickman, Kimberly (Jake) Beathard, grandsons Kelly (Lyndsie) Kevin, Kyle (Sunday) and Kent Weakley, great grandsons Joey and Jack Hickman and Joshua Kelly Weakley, great granddaughter Callie Hickman, sister Barbara (William) Brake, brother Bob (Luella) Conklin, uncle Max (Madge) Conklin, sister in law Nancy Conklin, nephews, nieces, cousins and many good friends. Graduate of The Ohio State University, BS in Business Administration Class of 1945. A Realtor, Appraiser, Land Developer in Hilliard, Ohio. Member of 1939-1940 OSU Basketball Team, Life member of OSU Alumni, 50 Year member of Hiram Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Shrine, 50 year member of Columbus Board of Realtors and National Association of Realtors. 50 year member of IOOF, International Order of Odd Fellows, Past Grand Master, 50 year member of Grange, and Franklin County Farm Bureau. He was the 1998 Hilliard Senior Citizen of the Year and Hilliard Parade Marshall 1999. Member of Northwest United Methodist Church. An inspiration to all who knew him, a man of faith, hope and the greatest of these is love. He lived by the Golden Rule. Special gratitude to the staff at Riverside and Grant Hospitals, the “Angels” of Mill Run Care Center, Pastors Harold Davidson and Bill Hunter, Dr. Stuart Kanter, family and friends for their prayers. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Kelly and Mary Conklin Scholarship Program for the Hilliard City Schools, Fifth Third Bank, 3800 Main St., Hilliard, OH 43026. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 pm Sunday at the Northwest United Methodist Church, 5200 Riverside Dr., Columbus, OH, where funeral service will be held 11 am Monday with calling hours one hour prior to the time of service with Pastors Harold Davidson and Bill Hunter officiating.
