Herbert Hadley, age 93, of Columbus, passed away December 18, 2012. Herbert proudly served our country as a PhM 2/c in the United States Coast Guard during WWII. He earned his Bachelors degree from the Ohio State University in 1942 and later received his Masters and PhD from Michigan State University. He began his career as a county agent in Allen County and then went on to serve as a District Supervisor and Agriculture Economist for the Agriculture Extension Service of The Ohio State University until his retirement in 1970. He was a member of Pass-A-Grille Community Church, American Legion, and Kiwanis. He enjoyed bowling, shuffleboard, bridge, golf, and singing in the Harbor Side Choir. He loved life, telling a good story, and spending time with his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by wives, Avalon (Urie) and Lavana “Cookie” Frahm and is survived by sons, Ronald (Karen) Hadley, Randy (Carolyn) Hadley, and Stephen (Judy) Hadley; step-daughter Kathie (Bill) Turner; daughter-in-law Lucy Buzzee, 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 19 at 2:30 PM at Grace Brethren Church Administration Chapel, 6675 Worthington-Galena Road, Worthington, Ohio 43085.
