Herman Frank Vahcic passed through the gates of heaven on December 19, 2018, age 88, to join his most beloved angel, Jeanette. Herman was born in Cleveland, Ohio on January 18, 1930 to Anton and Matilda. Herman was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Frances Jeanette Banas Vahcic, his sons-in-law, Mark Hamblin and Dr. David Gyurcsik, five brothers and two sisters. He is survived by daughters Benita Hamblin and Janine Gyurcsik, grandsons, Christopher (Abbie) Hamblin and Joshua (Lauren) Hamblin, granddaughters, Kathryn Gyurcsik and Melissa Gyurcsik, great grandchildren, Aleeyah, Payton, Mason, Emilee, and Jaxon and a host of friends from church including his special “granddaughter”, Janine Lehr. Herman was a proud Marine who served in the Korean War. When he returned, he worked for Tuthill Corporation for 42 years as a production control supervisor, thus his need for exactness in all things number related. When he wasn’t spending quality time with his children, he would be out golfing or watching the Indians or the Browns. A special thanks is given to all of the wonderful people at Mayfair Village Nursing Center, especially Doris, and OhioHealth Hospice. Family will receive friends Friday 4-6 pm Friday at TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Herman 10 am Saturday at St. Brendan the Navigator Church, 4475 Dublin Road, Hilliard, Ohio 43026. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery.
