Howard Ball

Howard D. Ball, age 94, of Hilliard, Ohio went home to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ on Monday, June 1, 2015. He was born on May 22, 1921 to Spencer T. and Ethel M. (Jackson) Ball in Lewis Center, Ohio and had five brothers and two sisters, Sherman L. (Blanch) Ball (deceased), Spencer T. Ball (deceased), Garnett L. Ball (deceased), Billy Ball (deceased), Douglas E. Ball (deceased), Margie Strobel (deceased) and Ruth Holycross. He grew up in Lewis Center, Ohio as did his wife Thelma, whom he married February 2, 1946. He loved her deeply and the Lord blessed them with over 69 years of marriage. They had four children. He is preceded in death by his son Larry E. Ball. Survived by his loving wife Thelma (Fawn) Ball, children Chester D. (Mary) Ball, Sandra K. (Pete) Hammond and Sharon F. (Warren) Gilson, 11 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. He served in WWII and retired from the Westinghouse. His hobby was trains. He loved anything about trains. He was a member of Big Darby Baptist Church and was an active part of his church family for many years. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and a strong man of faith who was always there for his family and friends. Family will receive friends 5-8 pm Thursday at the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026; where funeral service will be held 11 am Friday. Interment Africa Cemetery.
