Howard James Kerr, Sr., age 88, of Hilliard, Ohio, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2015, at the Heartland of Marysville, Ohio, after complications from congestive heart failure. Howard had been a long-term resident at the Heartland, and will miss the staff and residents. Howard was born March 12, 1927, in Irwin, PA, to William Valentine Kerr and Bertha Francis Kerr (Woolcock). Howard grew up during the depression and told stories of delivering papers to help support the family with his best friend "Bumps". He married Charlotte Ann Donesec, in Elko twp, NV, on May 5, 1960, and had three children. Howard and Charlotte traveled extensively throughout the United States before settling in Hilliard, Ohio. Howard graduated from Irwin High School, and received a BA degree in business from Greensburg College. He served during WWII in the Army Air Corps, and was honorably discharged. He worked as a plant manager at various companies across the country, including the Dean and Barry Paint Company, Columbus, OH. During his career he was active in various professional organizations including Kiwanis of Hilliard - He spoke fondly of serving at the annual Farm Science Review, London, OH. Howard spent time outside of work in support of his children. He was active in the Hilliard Optimist Baseball Association and Hilliard Indian Guides (where he served as "Chief"). Following his early up-bringing, Howard was raised in the Methodist faith, and he enjoyed Bible Study, and Sunday Church worship at Heartland. Howard is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Charlotte (Donesec), sons James (Christine), John (Kathryn), and Howard (Brenda) Jr., and his children Nancy, Greg, and Donna; grandchildren Greg Jr., Kaitlyn, Korey, Daniel and Matthew. Howard is preceded in death by siblings Glenn, Betty, and Ann. A private funeral service is planned
