Iris Chawner

Iris (Murray) Chawner, 82, of Columbus, passed away Saturday, February 19, 2011. Member of Bethel United Methodist Church; graduate of Hilliard High School Class of 1947; and member of The Ladies Golf League at Safari Golf Club. Preceded in death by parents Clarence and Mae Murray and 9 brothers and sisters. Survived by loving husband of 61 years, Joe; children, Pamela (David) Spraw of Orangeville, PA, Bruce (Deborah) Chawner of Heber City, UT; siblings, Jim (Ida) Murray of Galloway, OH, Nancy Ridgeway of Mainville, OH, Larry (Sally) Murray of Galloway, OH; sister-in-law, Ruby Butt of Hilliard, OH; brother-in-law, Jack Chawner of Rocky River, OH; grandchildren, Justin (Myra) Spraw of Philadelphia, PA, and Jessica (Brian) Glusing of Fredericksburg, VA; great-granddaughter, Ava Spraw; and numerous other loving relatives and friends. Joe would like to extend a special thank you to their church family for all the love, support, and kindness they have shown. A Memorial Service will be held at 3PM Saturday, February 26 at Bethel United Methodist Church 1220 Bethel Rd. Columbus with Rev. Mike Pratt officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church or INCARE Hospice of Upper Arlington, OH.
