Jackie "Delbert" Gleason

Jackie D.E. “Delbert” Gleason, age 91, a resident of Hilliard since 1958, died peacefully at Stone Oak Retirement Community on October 9, 2023. Jackie worked at several careers simultaneously throughout his life including Command Sergeant Major in the Ohio National Guard, Columbus Police Officer, Chief Criminal Deputy of the Franklin County Municipal Court and Claims Adjuster for State Auto Mutual Insurance Company. Graduate of Central High School. Preceded in death by his wife of nearly 64 years, Carolyn who passed away in 2016, his parents Conrad and Nellie Leona Gleason, brother Robert Gleason, mother-in-law Edith Clouse and son-in-law Don Rupright. Survived by children Nancy Rupright, Jackie (Marla) Gleason, Janet Metz and Sandy (John) McKenna, grandchildren Lynn (Carlos) Segovia, Jon Metz, Jackie Ryan (McKenzie) Gleason, Nick (Sarah) Gleason, Stacey McKenna and Jay (Brittany) McKenna, ten great-grandchildren, sister Donna Abbott and care companions Cindy, Sheri and Tony. Family will receive friends Thursday, October 12, 2023 from 5-7pm at the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026; where funeral service will be held Friday, October 13, 2023 at 12pm with visitation 2 hours prior to the time of service. In lieu of flowers the family requests a cash donation or toiletry item for the homeless as Jackie’s greatest purpose over the last 5 years has been making sleeping mats for area homeless.
