Jacquellyn (Jackie) Rausch of Hilliard passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 26, 2017 at the age of 86. Jackie was a 58-year resident of Hilliard, where she saw Hilliard grow from a small village to the thriving suburban city it is today. She was born February 19, 1931 in Johnstown, PA to the Rev. Kenneth and Mildred Falstick. Jackie was raised in western Pennsylvania and was a 1949 graduate of Midland, PA high school. Jackie tells stories of being raised during World War II and the difficult times everyone endured during those years. Since her father was a minister, the family wasn't subject to some of the "rationing" that was instituted during the war. Because her father graduated from Otterbein College and loved Westerville, Jackie moved with her family to Westerville in 1951. Soon afterward, she met the love of her life and her life-long partner, Ivan Rausch of Marysville while on a double-date with dear friends Bill and Eleanor Deskins of Westerville. Jackie and Ivan dated for 6 years and were married on June 20, 1959. They immediately built their first and only house in Hilliard. Jackie was employed at the former Kilgore Company in Westerville and at Nationwide Insurance in Columbus, but spent the majority of her life as a devoted mother and homemaker to her family, and a "taxi cab driver" to her children. She was actively involved with her children's sports and band activities in Hilliard, and enjoyed reading in her spare time. Jackie was a 58-year member of St. John Lutheran Church in Dublin where she witnessed a small, country church grow into a large suburban congregation. She was active in the Lutheran Women's Missionary League and the former Lois Circle at St. John. Jackie is preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth & Mildred Falstick of Westerville, sister Gwendollyn Strohm and brother-in-law Albert Strohm of St. Marys, PA, sister Marollyn Hughes of Pataskala, and brother Larry Falstick of Westerville. She is also preceded in death by two nephews, Rev. Scott Strohm of Marysville and Keith Hughes of London. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Ivan, sons Clark (Corry) Rausch of Columbus, Bret (Laurie Roberts) Rausch of Columbus, and daughter Wendy Hambel of Columbus. Jackie is also survived by the pride and joy of her life, her six grandchildren Brandan (Jayme) Rausch, Adrienne Rausch, Drew and Bailey Rausch, and Alex and Morgan Hambel, as well as great grandchildren, Avery Rausch, Kaylee Vegliack, and Ezekiel Lowe and numerous nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends 4-7 pm Friday at the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026. Funeral service will be held 11 am Saturday at St. John Lutheran Church, Dublin, 6135 Rings Road, Dublin, OH 43016 with visitation 1 hour prior to the time of service with Rev. Adam Steinbrenner officiating. Internment following funeral at St. John’s Lutheran Church cemetery, Marysville. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jackie's honor can be made to St. John Lutheran Church, Dublin, or L.W.M.L. at the church.
