James Bayes

James C. Bayes, age 83 of Orient, died Saturday, February 20, 2010 at Odessey House of Columbus. He was born Feb. 26, 1926 in Johnson County, KY. He was the son of the late John and Eva (LeMaster) Bayes.
Mr. Bayes was an area grain & livestock farmer; member of Ohio Pork Council; Knights of Pythias, Sherman Lodge #470 of Harrisburg.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hilda Jane Bayes; 3 brothers John Bayes, Jr., Eugene Bayes, and Charles Bayes; 2 sisters Venus Conley and Billie Mae Bayes.
He is survived by son & daughter-in-law, Michael and Kathy Bayes of Orient; brother Morris L. Bayes, Sr. of Orient; sister-in-law, Betty Deardurff of Mt. Sterling.
A Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, Mt. Sterling. Morris L. Bayes, Jr. officiating with the interment following in Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2010 from 5 – 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, family suggest memorial contributions may be given to the Derby United Methodist Church 11792 London Rd., Derby, OH. 43117 or charity of choice.
