James "Daniel" Karnes

James “Daniel” Karnes, 75, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2025. Dan was born in Columbus, OH on January 13, 1950. Dan was preceded in death by his wife, Cheryl (aka Charlie), parents, James E. Karnes and Dorothy E. Karnes and sister, Sharon “Sherry” (Jack) Boyer. He is survived by stepdaughter Renee, stepson Mike (Christa), step grandchildren Cody, Ashley, Nathan (Alexis), Marissa and his nephews Greg (Sue) Boyer, Tim Boyer and Jack (Mily) Boyer and niece, Jill Boyer. Dan graduated from Upper Arlington High School and attended Ohio State University. Dan was employed with the Columbus Division of Police. He will always be known for his care of family, love of classic cars and the most entertaining babysitter of his nephews and niece when he was attending Ohio State. Family will receive friends Wednesday, February 5, 2025, from 11am-12pm at the TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026; where funeral service will follow at 12pm. Interment Sunset Cemetery, Galloway, OH.
