James "Jim" C. Pennington

James C. Pennington, age 86, of Hilliard, Ohio, passed away Monday, April 10, 2017 at Dublin Methodist Hospital. A native of Bluefield, WV, he moved to Hilliard in 1970. Originally a coal miner, Jim was a diesel mechanic and retired from Yellow Freight. Raised to a Master Mason, Jim was a member of Bluefield Mercer Lodge #85, F&AM and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his son Steve Pennington, his parents Sadie and Cofer Pennington and his sister Eleanor Helmandollar. Jim is survived by his daughter Lisa Zornes of Hilliard and his grandchildren Eric Zornes and Alex Zornes of Cape Coral, FL and Logan Pennington and Jessie Pennington of Columbus, OH. Family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00p.m. TUESDAY, APRIL 18, 2017 at the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich Street, Hilliard, Ohio 43026 (614)-876-1722 where his Memorial Service will be held at 7:00p.m. on TUESDAY with Reverend David Nuhfer, officiating.
