James Rose

James L. Rose, age 87, of Powell, passed away, Thursday, February 25, 2010. He was a Navy Petty Officer serving in WWII aboard The Heavy Cruiser U.S.S. San Francisco. Member of VFW Post 3424, American Legion Post 614 and also a member of the Columbus Transportation Club and Columbus Motor Freight Club. Retired as Vice President of U.S. Truck Company and Transportation Service, Inc. Preceded in death by twin brother Danny Rose and sister Eileen Sonner. Survived by loving wife of 65 years, Polly, sons Tom (Carolyn) Rose and Dan (Kathy) Rose, daughter Marsha (Dave) Browley, brothers Joseph (Dorothy) Rose and Ira (Joan) Rose, grandchildren Lisa, David, Nick and Shawn, several great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends. Friends may call 3-7 pm Tuesday at the TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026; where a Catholic prayer service will be held Tuesday 6 pm. Inurnment 10 am Wednesday at St. Joseph Cemetery.
