Janice (Terry) Messinger, on Mother’s Day, May 13, 2012, encircled by her gathered family, passed from this world at the age of 88. Born in Kentucky, Janice had lived in Washington D.C., Michigan and West Virginia before settling to the west side of Columbus, Ohio; where she raised 6 children. It was a long standing tradition that every Sunday at noon everyone would scramble to her kitchen where she could be found preparing a feast. Regardless of what was served, stomachs were filled and hearts were overflowed. Janice did not fill us up with just food, but with her stories, her sharp wit and the knowledge that her family meant everything to her; they were her greatest achievement. Janice is survived by her 6 children; Jay (Sue) Terry, Tom Terry, Mike Terry, Monecca (David) Chadwell, David Terry, James (Cindy) Terry, special niece Sue (Roger) Weatherby, nephew Steve Clemons, her 9 grandchildren; Pamela Garrett, Christopher and Steven Terry, David Chadwell, Elizabeth Gardner, Matthew and Nathan Terry, Jarod Callander and Kevin Weatherby, her 10 great grandchildren and numerous family members. Janice was preceded in death by her 2 precious sisters, Carmen “Tootsie” Clemons and Elizabeth Wells, her beloved brother James Edgar Mounts, a special nephew Henry “Art” Clemons and loving niece, Clara “Libby” Lewis.
