Jeanne Leonard

Jeanne F. Leonard (78) peacefully passed away on Friday, September 20. Jeanne resided in Hillard, OH. Jeanne was born in the Bronx, NY on August 8, 1946, to Thomas and Florence (McAuliffe) Noonan. Jeanne worked as a unit secretary at Jamestown General Hospital in Jamestown, NY, but dedicated most of her time to raising her family.

Jeanne is survived by her husband, Vincent; her children, Vincent Leonard III, Cynthia (Dan) Wood, Stephen (Kim) Leonard, Darlene Wright, and Thomas (Kyung) Leonard; her siblings, Catherine McHugh, Regina Watts, and Daniel Noonan; her grandchildren, Sarah Williams, Joseph Leonard, Allison Leonard, James Wood, Brianna Wright, Thomas Leonard, Michael Wright, Kaitlyn Leonard, Nicky Leonard, Milly Leonard, Emma Leonard, Ryan Leonard; great grandson Ian Williams, and her nieces and nephew Teesia Watts, Monique Watts, Christine Watts, and Robert Noonan.

Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Thomas P. Noonan Jr. (Medal of Honor recipient), and her nephews, Daniel Noonan Jr. and Thomas Watts Jr.

Jeanne was an avid reader. She was an incredible baker and anyone in her presence was always fed exceptionally well. She was known for her Irish soda bread, fruit cakes, and all kinds of other baked goods. She loved tulips and lit up at the sight of them. She loved to talk and share her wisdom and stories; she never met a stranger. She was a great listener who never missed a detail, even if it was unspoken; she always made everyone feel important. Her heart was enormous. Her compassion and genuine willingness to help others was profound. Her beautiful soul will be missed immensely.

The family will receive friends for a visitation at Tidd Funeral Home, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH, on Thursday, September 26, from 5-7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Brendan the Navigator Catholic Church, 4475 Dublin Rd., Hilliard, OH, on Friday, September 27, at 10:30 AM. A private burial will happen at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial donation to SmileTrain.
