Jeffrey Smith, MD

Jeffrey Smith, MD, 63, of Hilliard, OH, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, January 17, 2019, with his loving family by his side. Jeff was born in Lakewood, OH in 1955 to Gerald Smith and the late Margaret Soltesz Smith. He was preceded in death by his mother and grandparents. Jeff is survived by his loving wife and children, dad, brother, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and in-laws. He very much enjoyed traveling with his family to visit relatives, attend/watch sporting events of his favorite teams, and enjoyed dining out with family and friends. He also enjoyed volunteering with his daughter at the Columbus Humane. Jeff graduated Medical School at The Ohio State University and received his Master’s in Public Health at the University of Michigan. He worked 30 years in Occupational Medicine and was Medical Director at Battelle Memorial Institute in Columbus for over 10 years. He also worked as Associate Medical Director of the U.S. Postal Service and in hospital programs throughout Columbus. A private memorial service with interment and reception will be held at The Church at Mill Run, UALC, Hilliard, OH with Pastor David White presiding.
