Jerry Hill, passed away peacefully at his residence in Hilliard, Ohio on July 9, 2018. For those that knew him, they would agree, that he was one of a kind, but with very special qualities. To name a few, he was a very giving person with a big heart, kind, gentle, loving and witty along with many other attributes. He served a term in the U. S. Army as a proud Vietnam Veteran. Jerry loved the outdoors and his wildlife. He will certainly be missed by the critters he fed daily in his back yard. He enjoyed life by attending auctions, bluegrass concerts, playing cards, fishing, snowmobiling, mushroom hunting, shooting, being with family and friends, and playing Santa. He loved it when children looked at him with amazement, thinking he was Santa with his white beard and his round belly.
He is survived by his mother, Emma Jean Powell of Troy, OH, brothers, Donald Hill (Wife-Sally) of West Milton, OH, Stan Hill (Wife-Shirley) of Smyrna, GA, and sisters, Sandra Taylor (Husband-Gary) Melbourne, Florida and Beverly Richey (Husband-Frank) of Lima, OH and many nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle Jerry dearly. He is also survived by his dear friend, companion and caregiver of many years, Amy Hall of Dublin, OH.
Visitation will be held at Tidd Funeral Home, in Hilliard at from 2:00-4:00 Friday, with a Memorial Service to follow at 4:00. There will also be a visitation at Baird Funeral Home in Troy, on Saturday from 11:00 – 1:00. Memorial Service to follow at 1:00. His final resting place will be Riverside Cemetery in Troy, OH.
