Jessa S. Bartley

Jessa S. Bartley, age 104, of Columbus, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 22, 2022.  She was born February 9, 1918 in Lick Creek, Kentucky to the late John A. and Dixie (Farley) Slone.  She graduated from Eastern Kentucky University.  Jessa taught seven years in Pike County, Kentucky and retired from the Columbus Public Schools with 31 years of service.  She was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church.  She volunteered at Doctors Hospital for 12 years.  Jessa was preceded in death by her husband Olvia, her son Robert J. Bartley and her grandson Robert J. Bartley, II.  Jessa is survived by her daughter-in-law Mary Kate Bartley of Columbus, her grandchildren Mary Slone Chapman (Keith) of West Chester, OH and James Andrew Bartley (Margarita) of Nokomis, FL; great-grandchildren Jessica and Natalie Hamren of West Chester, OH and Andrius Bartley of Nokomis, FL.  Jessa loved the Lord and she was always willing to talk about God to any stranger.  She loved the outdoors, especially working in her flowers and running and swimming.  Family will welcome friends from 10:00a.m.-12:00p.m. WEDNESDAY, APRIL 27, 2022 at the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich Street, Hilliard, OH 43026 (614)-876-1722 where her Funeral Service will follow the visitation hours and begin at 12:00 NOON WEDNESDAY with Pastor Timothy Kenoyer, officiating.  Her burial will be held privately at Sunset Cemetery, Galloway, Ohio where she will be laid to rest beside her son and grandson.  Please visit www.tiddfuneralservice.com to share your favorite memories and to send your condolences to Jessa’s family.
