Jesse Russell Woodruff, 23, of Hilliard, passed peacefully and unexpectedly at home on April 2, 2021. Born October 30, 1997, in Columbus, he was the son of Eric A. and Christine M. (Sheldon) Woodruff. Music had a special place in Jesse’s life. He was a talented musician, mainly playing drums and guitar, and enjoyed his time playing gigs in high school and listening to music of all kinds. Jesse also was a sponsored nationally ranked rider in the NBL (National Bicycle League) in middle school. Jesse loved nature, and recently earned a certificate in Horticulture. Jesse was a kind and empathetic soul. He held the sanctity of life very dear, believed every life including insect and animal was valuable. Jesse was deeply loved and revered by his family. He was very intelligent, and a deep thinker. He earned the nickname “Jimmy Neutron” when he was young. He was a cherished and trusted friend to many. Survivors include his parents, Eric and Christine Woodruff; brother, Derik; sister, Megan; grandparents, Stanley and Theresa Sheldon and Timothy and Pamela Woodruff; uncle, Mark Woodruff; aunt, Kay (Aaron) Richardson; uncle and treasured friend Shelby Sheldon (Suzanne Akarri), cousins, Ella and Clara Richardson, and Kaedyn Sheldon; nephews, Wyatt, Tripp and Noah Woodruff; many close friends, and his beloved, valued companion, his cat, Atticus. He was preceded in death by his aunt, Angela Sheldon, and many great grandparents. There will be a small private celebration of life.
