Jifen Hsieh, age 66, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2019 with her family by her side. She was born on August 27, 1952 in Keelung, Taiwan to Ah-Fu Jiang and Tsui-Ying Chiang and immigrated to Houston, TX with her husband, Jian, in 1978. In 1986, Jifen settled in central Ohio where she lived and worked for Kenda USA for the next 33 years.
Jifen was a passionate supporter, tireless volunteer and dedicated member of the Tzu Chi foundation and eventually became a commissioner within the organization. She organized fundraisers to support victims of natural disasters around the world, hosted foreign exchange students attending The Ohio State University, led weekly study sessions at the Tzu Chi headquarters in Columbus, and volunteered with countless organizations around the community.
Jifen is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Jian, and two sons, Joe and Alvin.
Family will receive friends on Friday from 1-3 and on Saturday from 3-6 at the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME WITH CREMATORY, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026; where funeral service will follow at 6 pm on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tzu Chi Foundation or the James Cancer Hospital.
