Jimmie Lee Hill

Jimmie Lee Hill, age 77 of Upper Arlington, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on April 10, 2009. A graduate of West High School and The Ohio State University where he was a member of the Ohio State Marching Band. He also served in the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1956. Jim was the Band Director and Music Teacher for West High School, Ridgemont High School and many other Schools in the Ohio area. One of his major accomplishments, and proudest moments was the 1968 trip to the Rose Bowl in California. A beloved musician and teacher, he enjoyed teaching music to numerous students and played in various jazz ensembles and bands through out Central Ohio. He is survived by his wife, Sue Anne Hill; children, John Hill, Deborah (Larry and Granddaughter Taylor) Herrmann, Jeff (Cathi) Hill; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. He will be loved and missed by all. Friends may call on Monday, April 20, 2009 at the TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich Street in Hilliard, Ohio from 1pm to 3pm and 6pm to 8pm with a private service for family members immediately following.
