Joann Tanner

Joann Laverne (Coan) Tanner, born April 26, 1932 went home to be with Jesus on Monday Jan. 18, 2016. Joann was born in Louisville, KY and is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Pauline Coan, brother Dick (Ruth) Coan, and husband of 44 years, William West Tanner. Joann is survived by her brother Jack (Helen) Coan, her two children, Dale (Cindy) Dunn and Pat (John) DiVelbiss, both of Westerville, OH. Joann is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Bart (Michelle) Dunn, Adam (Katie) Dunn, Joanna Dunn, John Robert (Natalie) DiVelbiss, Mande (Drew) Stedman, Michael DiVelbiss, Joy DiVelbiss, and Mark DiVelbiss. Her great-grandchildren are Roman and Wyatt Dunn and Lyra Stedman. Joann served as an executive secretary at Henry Vogt Machine Co. for 16 years. Afterward, she and Bill moved to Doe Valley, a golf and boating community in Brandenburg, KY. Shortly after Bill’s retirement, they moved to Leesburg, FL., where they enjoyed nearly 15 years together before moving to Westerville, OH. Joann enjoyed playing shuffle board and bingo and watching golf, tennis, and other sports on TV. Most of all, she enjoyed her family. We will miss her dearly. Family will receive friends 3-4 p.m. Friday at the TIDD FUNERAL HOME WITH CREMATORY, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026, where funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. with Pastor Rick Nuzum officiating.
