John W. Edington

John Woodrow Edington Sr., 59, passed away peacefully on April 12th, 2023 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family.

"Woody”, as he was known by most, was a hard-working family man and well respected concrete finisher at Scioto Darby Concrete. Woody loved working and spending time with his children, nieces, nephews, and friends. He loved Ohio State Football, playing pool, and Donald Trump.

Woody was born December 4th, 1963 in Columbus Ohio to James and Raynella Edington.

He is survived by his two children, John (Bethany) Edington and Jennifer (Colt) Wooden; seven grandchildren, Paige, Kaia, Maddux, Nehemiah, Roan, Luke and baby Claire, due July 2023. He is also survived by brothers, James (Rena) Edington, Jack Edington, Charles Edington; sisters Sherie (Skip) Houser; Rapunzel Mitchell; and countless nieces and nephews. Nephew Jason Hall showed consistent comfort and visited him regularly in his final years. Woody also enjoyed walking and visiting his daughters’ two dogs, Josephine and Kyle, who gave him a smile even on his last days.  

Woody was preceded in death by his parents James and Raynella Edington; brother George Edington, and sisters Lisa Edington and Deborah Fritsch.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Woody at a later date.
