John "Jack" Flood

John R. “Jack” Flood, age 77, born North side Pittsburgh, PA and having resided in Columbus, passed away November 9, 2010. Member of St. Brendan the Navigator Catholic Church. Retired U.S.A.F. MSgt in 1979 with 26 years of distinguished service. Served in Phang Rang Vietnam 1968-1969. He also retired from Mac Tools 1995. Member of American Legion Post 614, VFW Post 2374, N.A.U.S. and the Garfield Club of Pittsburgh. Jack was an avid sports fan, especially the Steelers and Pirates. He enjoyed reading and was a devoted husband, father and grandpa. Preceded in death by grandson Dale Huckaby, parents John and Grace Flood, siblings Ray (Julie) Flood, Rhea (Wimpy) Petro, Bebee Flood, Roberta Milligan and Ruth (Joe) Kugel. Survived by loving wife of 53 years, Mary, children Elizabeth (Henry) Bateman, John R. (Caroline) Flood Jr., Stephen P. Flood and Stephanie, and Catherine M. Workman; grandchildren Matthew, George, Halle, Riley, Harrison and Danielle, sister in law Ina Flood and numerous loving relatives and close friends. Family will receive friends Friday 5-8 pm at the TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026. Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 am Saturday at St. Brendan the Navigator Catholic Church, 4475 Dublin Rd., Hilliard, OH 43026. Interment Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
