John Leahy

LEAHY, John Thomas, age 81, born in Columbus, Ohio, on February 1, 1926, died March 26, 2006 at Columbus Alzheimer Care Center with family by his side. John was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Preceded in death by his mother, Bernice Margaret Leahy and father, Lt. Col. Thomas Roy Leahy and is survived by wife Anne Elizabeth Leahy; seven children, Christine (Mark) Overmyer, Theresa (Dr.Larry) Kennedy, Roy (Liz) Leahy, Eleanor (Chuck) Shively, John P. (Teri) Leahy, Margaret (Rob) Whipple and James (Julie) Leahy; 13 grandchildren, sister Ann Eggert and bother George Leahy. John was a 1944 graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas H.S. and The Ohio State University. He retired from Robertshaw Controls Company as an accountant. Family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 pm Thursday at the TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard. Funeral Mass will be held 10 am Friday at St. Brendan’s Catholic Church, 4475 Dublin Rd., Hilliard, with Father Rodric DiPietro celebrant. Entombment St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Catholic Charities or Columbus Alzheimer’s Association
