John Miles

John B. "Burr" Miles, age 71, of Hilliard, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at his residence. Preceded in death by parents, Dr. James Beryl and Martha J. (Swicegood) Miles; brother, Jack Miles. A man of faith, who never knew a stranger. Burr was his sons' and grandchildren's greatest fan; never missing a practice or game. Ministry partner of Lifepoint Church. Graduated from West High School, class of 1961. Past President of Hilliard Optimist Club; member of the MOB Car Club, which he enjoyed going to car shows with all his car buddies. Retired from the Columbus Police Department after 33 years of service. Survived by his beautiful bride of 50 years, Sandra; sons, John II (Stephanie) and Kevin (Jamie), all of Hilliard; the "Light of his life," his grandchildren, John "J.B." III, Colton, Chase, Kailee and Kaleb; and his precious Ruby; brothers, Tim (Susie) Miles and Jeff (Barb) Miles; sister, Nena (Brad) Leffel; brother-in-law, Rick (Brenda) Householder; many nieces and nephews; countless lifetime friends, and his coworkers at Wesley Chapel Cemetery. Family will receive friends 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, December 1, 2014 at the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St. in Hilliard. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, at the Lifepoint Church, 3915 Dublin Rd. Columbus, OH 43221. Pastor Brad Kochis officiating. Interment Wesley Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lifepoint Church Building Fund.
