Joy Brake

Joy Lynne (Buker) Brake, passed away March 10, 2021 at home in Upper Arlington, Ohio and was born September 9, 1934 in Newark, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerald L. Brake. She is survived by her three children: Jeffrey Brake, Jodi Pinyerd (Alan), and Jay (Joanne) Brake, and grandchildren: Stephanie (Kurt) Emeigh, AJ Pinyerd, Jayson and Graceann Brake—all who were very important to her. In addition to her immediate family, she is survived by three great grandsons, brothers and a sister, nephews and nieces, and many brothers and sisters in-law. Joy had a love for her family and traveling, and was always ready to see new things. She grew-up in Milford Center, Ohio, married and had her first son in Munich, Germany. She resided in Upper Arlington since 1968. She retired from Jones, Day, Reavis, and Pogue where she was a law librarian for many years. At Joy’s request, there will not be a memorial service.
