Joyce Allen

Joyce (Terlson) Allen, passed away Friday, Nov 7, 2014; preceded in death by her loving husband, Luther Allen. Survived by daughters Rachel Reeder of Hilliard, OH and Sarah (David) LaRosa of Westerville OH, Grandchildren Rebecca (Mike) Reeder-Uhl, Maxwell Reeder (Melissa Richtarik) and Hope LaRosa, brothers Donald (Arlene) Terlson and Robert (Lorraine) Terlson and her beloved dog Charlie. Joyce was a 1st grade teacher in Lima, OH for years. She valued education and volunteerism. She earned her bachelor's degree from OSU at Lima; earning her Masters degree from the Univ of Dayton OH. She served as a learning disability tutor, League of Women Voters Member, AAUW, Phi Delta Kappa, Board of Limaco Credit Union, Lima Allen County Community Action Committee, Lima Education Assn., NWOEA and OEA, NW Ohio Literacy Council; Tennessee Good Sams, TN Threads of Hope and Habitat for Humanity. She also enjoyed golf and traveling. Special thanks to the caring staff at Carriage Court of Hilliard. Family will receive friends 10:00 am – 11:00 am Saturday, November 29, 2014 with a service immediately following at Tidd Family Funeral Home, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026.
