Joyce Young

Joyce A. Young (85), of Hilliard, OH passed away on Monday, February 6, 2023.  Joyce was born in Ashland, KY on January 25, 1938 to Virgil and Goldie (Riggs) Williams.  She is survived by her sons, Larry Young of Harrisburg, OH and Mark (Mary) Young of Grove City, OH; her grandchildren, Leann Young, Clinton Young and Anthony (Kayla Cameron) Young; and her great grandchildren, Melody, Emma, Aubrey and Kyli.  Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, her lifelong partner Ora Young, her sister Pauline Bradshaw, and her brothers Bill, Harold and Larry Williams.

Joyce spent over 40 years in the banking industry, mostly at National City Bank.  She advanced through the ranks becoming one of the first women to be a branch manager.  She loved to travel, visiting the corners of the nation and much in between.  After she retired, she enjoyed reading, ballroom dancing and gardening.  She was also an avid Ohio State Buckeye Football Fan.  Her heart steered toward her family.  She loved spending the holidays (especially Christmas) with her family and visits from her sons and grandchildren, as well as her new great grandchildren.  She was the most honest and decent lady anywhere.  She was loved by all her friends and family and her memory will be greatly cherished.

The family will receive friends at a gathering for Joyce on Saturday, February 11 from 1:00-4:00 pm at the Tidd Funeral Home 5265 Norwich St in Hilliard, OH.  Joyce will be privately laid to rest at the Ashland Cemetery in Ashland, KY.
