Julia McKee

Julia McKee (92) passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 14, 2023. She was born on January 26, 1931, in Columbus, OH to Frank and Thelma (Bentz) Bragg. Julia spent some of her childhood in Ironton, OH, but spent most of her young life growing up in Columbus while living with her grandparents.  In 1949, she married John L. McKee, her husband of 63 years. Julia was a devoted mother to her two daughters, Vicki and Terri and was a loyal member of the Concordia Lutheran Church in Columbus, OH. Julia enjoyed making little moments special for her grandsons, Nick and Ben; she always had cookies on hand and never let anyone leave the house without a special treat. Julia loved vacationing in Myrtle Beach and shopping on the weekends. She took pride in her home and enjoyed hosting her family on Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve.

Julia was preceded in death by her grandparents, Charles and Sarah Bentz, parents, Frank and Thelma Bragg; her husband, John L. McKee; her loving daughter, Terri L. McKee; Terri’s fiancé, Mike Wolfe; sister, Marilyn Isaac; brother-in-law, Robert Riley, and nephew Robbie Riley. 

Julia is survived by her daughter, Vicki L. (Michael) Davis; grandson Benjamin Davis; great-grandson, Thomas Davis; grandson Nicholas (Lisa) Davis, great-granddaughters Isabella and Olivia; sister, Sharon Riley; brother-in-law, Robert Isaac; niece Lisa (Rick) Massey, nephew Joseph (Rita) Isaac & son, Jacob Isaac; along with great nieces and nephews, Erika (Daniel) Friesenhengst & their children, Greysen and Aubrie; Ashley (Josh) Castillo & their children, Enoch, Abraham and Joseph.

A funeral service will be held for Julia at Concordia Lutheran Church, 225 Schoolhouse Lane, in Columbus, OH. Friends and family are invited to a visitation at the church on Thursday, December 28th, from 12:00 – 1:00 pm, with the funeral service following at 1:00 pm. Immediately following the service, Julia will be laid to rest at Sunset Cemetery in Galloway, OH.
