Julie M (Cave) Garcia, 42, of Delaware, Ohio died Friday, January 6, 2017 at the Ohio State University Ross Heart Hospital. She was born May 30, 1974, in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of Ronald Cave and Patricia (Wood) Cave. Julie graduated from Upper Arlington High School in 1992. She attended the Columbus College of Art and Design and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Pathology at The Ohio State University. Her post graduate work in speech pathology was done at West Virginia University in Morgantown, West Virginia. She was employed at the Opportunities for Ohioans with Disability for 16 years as a Disability Claims Adjudicator. She retired on disability from her employment in July 2016. The absolute love of her life was her 10 year old son, Edin. When she was able, she and Edin would take weekend retreats, go to the movies, and jive to 80‘s music in the car. She loved to travel especially to warm beach areas and dreamed of visiting exotic places. She was a generous and kind person who volunteered her time in support of her son’s school and money to support World Vision and other charities. She was a “gentle fighter” who courageously battled life long disabilities but was upbeat and optimistic and always saw the best in others. She believed in the strength of family bonds and treasured her friendships. She is survived by her son, Edin, of Delaware, Ohio; her father, Ronald Cave and mother Patricia Cave of Lewis Center, OH; her brother, Christopher Cave and sister-in-law, Rebecca (Lenneman) Cave of Yorktown. Va; her sister, Kimberlee (Cave) Riddlebaugh and brother-in-law Ed Riddlebaugh of Dublin, Ohio. Memorial Services will be held SATURDAY, JANUARY 14, 2017 at 11am at Mountview Christian Church 2140 Fishinger Rd., Upper Arlington, OH 43221. Any flowers may be sent to the church.
