Katherine Johnson

Katherine Johnson, age 88 of Madison Mills, passed away Friday, July 31, 2009 at Mt. Carmel West, Columbus. She was the daughter of Harry and Matty (Napper) McGinnis. She was born June 28, 1921 in Wellston, Ohio.
Preceded in death by husband, Arthur Johnson; sons Clark Johnson, Otis Johnson, and Arthur “Don” Johnson; grandson, Paul Cummings, III; sisters Emma Freeman, Madeline McGinnis, Gertrude McGinnis, and Hazel Thacker; brothers Rich, Ken, Arthur, Gilbert, Glendon, and Frank McGinnis.She is survived by daughters, Linda Cummings and Patty (Willard) Stout, both of Mt. Sterling; son, Kenneth (Gloria) Johnson of Washington C.H.;14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren; special nephew Bradley (Shirley) McGinnis, and several nieces and nephews, and many friends.A Funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, Mt. Sterling. Rev. Densil Wright officiating with the interment following in Pleasant Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Monday, August 3, 2009 from 4 – 8 p.m.
