Kenneth J. Hennes, age 93, of Hilliard, OH, peacefully passed away on March 8th, 2024, with his beloved wife, Charlene, of 70 years by his side.
He was born on October 16th, 1930, to Kenneth E. Hennes and Theresa (Burger) Hennes. Ken served his country during the Korean War as a member of the US Army. He was also a charter member of court 1230 in the Independent Order of the Forrester's. Ken retired from National Water Lift, Beaufort, SC.
Ken had a gift of gab and a reassuring manner, knowing no strangers. He loved playing cards, bowling and especially golf. He was also a loyal fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes as well as the Cincinnati Reds. Ken's indomitable spirit shone brightly as he faced health challenges, surpassing his original diagnosis with resilience and determination, inspiring all who knew him. Ken leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
He is survived by his wife Charlene (Rison) Hennes, Daughter, Sheri (Rob) Stewart and son, John (Carol) Hennes. He has 2 grandchildren, Joann (James) Anderson and Kimberly (Shawn) Connor. He is also survived by 3 great-grandchildren Sherianea R. Anderson, Eleanor C. Connor and Theadore K. Connor, 4 step-great-grandchildren and 3 step-great-great-grandchildren. He has a step-granddaughter Stephanie (Pastor Eric) Swenson, was preceded in death by his parents, and step-granddaughter, Lisa Heaten.
In the hearts of those who knew him, Ken will forever remain a beacon of strength and love and his presence will be deeply missed.
Family will receive friends Tuesday, March 19, 2024 from 10am-11am at TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026; where a memorial service will follow at 11am.
