WHITAKER Kenneth Whitaker, age 74 of Washington Court House, formerly of Mt. Sterling. died Thursday, March 25, 2010 in Grant Medical Center, Columbus. He was born May 8, 1935 in Nicholasville, KY. (Jessamine County). He was the son of the late Henry and Carrie Boggs Whitaker.
Attended the Grace Community Church in Washington C.H.; member of Amvets Post #61, Rocky Fork Lake, Hillsboro; served in the US Navy.
Preceded in death by his wife, Margie; son, Vincent; brothers Earl and Henry, Jr.
He is survived by daughter and son-in-law with whom he made his home, Lisa and Jim Capper of Washington Court House; 5 grandchildren, Melissa Stires, Sarah and Laura Capper, Tierra and Andrew Whitaker; sister, Irene Caldwell of Kentucky; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
A Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 29, 2010 at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, Mt. Sterling. Pastor Jay Lucas officiating with the burial following in Pleasant Cemetery. The Circleville Amvets Post #2256 will perform a military service at the committal.
A visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday until time of service.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks for the outstanding care given by Grant Medical Heart Disease Clinic. Family suggest memorial contributions given to the clinic at 111 S. Grant Ave., Columbus,OH.,43215.
