Kermit Christian Conrad Grener, born October 14, 1918, age 97 of Plain City, Ohio, formerly of Hilliard, Ohio was peacefully delivered into the hands of God on the 22nd day of August. He was baptized, confirmed, and a life long member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Dublin,Ohio, serving as an Elder and former Treasurer. He has always loved music and in his early years he played the violin and sang in a barbershop quartet. A 1936 graduate of Hilliard High School, he was elected State Officer and earned his American Farmer Degree in FFA. He was inducted into the HHS Hall of Fame in 1995. He was an avid farmer his entire life in the Hilliard area and worked for the ASCS (Agricultural Stabilization Conservation Service) for the USDA for 35 years. He served on the Board of Zoning Appeals for Washington Twp, was an active member of the 1918 Club of Ohio and was past President of the Northwest Franklin County Historical Society. He loved the land and the beauty of the earth. Proceeded in death by his parents Christian Conrad Grener and Magdalena Emma Fladt Grener; Son Lawrence Conrad Grener 1940-96, Sister Norma Elizabeth Grener, brother-in-law Melvin Rings. Survived by his wife of 77 years Dorothy Bynner Grener; children Phyllis Jean Pritchard Walker (Charles), Richard Stephan Grener (Beverly), Theodore Alan Grener (Maureen), David Eric Grener (Lynda), Cheryl Jayne Partlow (Stanley); daughter-in-law, Barbara Corderman Grener; 19 Grandchildren, 30 Great Grandchildren, and 6 Great Great Grandchildren; Sister Florence Grener Rings, Foster Sister Mary Louise Heimbush Grubbs; and many Nieces, Nephews and Friends. The family will receive family and friends at the Tidd Funeral Home, 5265 Norwich St, Hilliard, Ohio from 4 to 8 pm. Aug. 25, 2016. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. John Lutheran Church, 6135 Rings Road, Dublin, Ohio 43016. There will be a celebration of his Christian life at St. John Lutheran Church, Dublin, OH on Aug 26, 2016 at 10:30 am with viewing one hour prior to the service. Internment at Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
