Larry Staats

Larry E. Staats, age 90, of Columbus, OH passed away Sunday, October 15, 2023.  A graduate of The Ohio State University Law School, Larry practiced bankruptcy law in Columbus, OH for over 40 years.  Larry was a member of the Ohio Bar Association, past president of the Fraternal Order of Police Associates (FOPA), US Army Veteran (Armored Officer), member of the Columbus Folk Music Society (CFMS), CFMS Jammers, Storytellers of Central Ohio (SOCO), SCUBA Instructor, Caver, and Bicyclist.  Preceded in death by his wife Janice R. Staats. Survived by daughter Rene (Ron) Noel, son Eric (Chris) Staats, grandchildren, Zachary Noel, Sean Noel, and Rachel Staats.  A Service of Remembrance will be held Saturday, October, 21, 2023 at The Church of the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, 6176​ Sharon Woods Blvd, Columbus, Ohio.  Visitation to start at 2:30 PM, memorial service to begin at 3:00 PM.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Tidd Funeral Homes, 5265 Norwich Street, Hilliard.   In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Columbus Folk Music Society ( https://www.columbusfolkmusicsociety.org/contact-donate.html ) or the Storytellers of Central Ohio ( https://www.socotales.org/ ).  To leave a special message for the family, please visit our guest book.
