Laurence “Larry” Engel Anderson 

Laurence E. Anderson, age 84, of Hilliard, OH, passed away unexpectedly on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024.  He was residing at the Inn at Library Way, Brooke Memory Care wing, where he had resided since October 2022, for care of Alzheimer’s Dementia.  Larry is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Sandra Mutz Anderson of Hilliard, OH and sister Harriett Weekly, and grand nieces and nephews of Northeastern OH.

Larry was a shy and brilliant man who attended Western Reserve Academy, and earned degrees from Mt. Union University (BS) and The Ohio State University (MS). He enjoyed a long professional career at Nestle USA, Inc.

Sandra would like to thank the staffs of Truman Rehab Center and the Inn at Library Way for truly caring for Larry and appreciating his manners and humor while at their residences as his disease progressed; also, the staff at Dublin Methodist Hospital.  She is especially grateful to the SHARE drivers and dispatchers at Hilliard Express for providing transportation so she could frequently visit Larry during his illness. Thank you’s are also extended to Hospice Care 360 for Larry’s increasing care needs, and the moral support of Larry’s friends.  Another BIG thank you is sent to Larry and Sandy’s co-workers from Nestle, neighbors, Battelle Memorial Institute, and local friends who came to visit Larry to watch movies and patiently let him read every line of the Dispatch newspaper for the daily updates.

A memorial service will be held Friday, June 28, 2024, from 2-4 pm at the Inn at Library Way, 4615 Library Way, Hilliard, Ohio. Please come and hear more about Larry Anderson, the irreplaceable partner and husband, friend, Cat-Dad Supreme, lover of antique cars, races, airplanes and the Metropolitan Opera. Larry was also a gourmet cook and White Castle breakfast slider lover.  Sandra asks that any charitable donations in honor of Larry be made to an animal care organization of your choice.
