Lawrence Wright, 74, of Hilliard, went home to be with the Lord on April 13, 2008. He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends, who will always remember his loyalty, generosity, hospitality, and unwavering sense of humor. He loved music and could play the guitar like few others. Following graduation form Hillsboro High School in 1952, he proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from January 1953 to January 1957 as a member of the 375th Bomb Squadron, 308th Bomb Wing, stationed at Hunter Air Force Base in Savannah, GA. He retired from American Electric Power in1988 with over 40 years of service. He was a member of Hayden Enterprise Baptist Church and a long-time Mason (Humboldt Lodge #476). Preceded in death by his faithful wife of 49 years, Mary Lou (Curtis) Wright, parents, Roy and Flora (Purcell) Wright, and brothers, Orville and Franklin Wright. Survived by daughter, Theresa (Mike) Rust, son, Larry (Laurie) Wright, grandchildren, Katie, Ali, Darin, and Brandon, great grandson, Owen, sister, Hazel (Ernie) Erwin, brothers, Leonard (Betty Sue) Wright, Marvin (Hazel) Wright, Denver (Nancy) Wright, and Dwayne (Penny) Wright, sisters-in-law, Velma Wright and Rosemary Wright, along with many nieces and nephews. Visitation hours are Thursday from 5-8pm at THE TIDD FUNERAL HOME 5265 Norwich St. Hilliard, OH 43026 where a funeral service will be held at 10am on Friday with Rev. Wayne Rigsby officiating. Interment will be in Jerome Township Cemetery, Plain City, OH. In lieu of flowers, friends and family may contribute to the charity of their choice.
