Leslie Perry, age 89, of Hilliard, passed away September 11, 2011. Member of Hayden Run Baptist Church, U.S. Army veteran serving in WWII in Africa, Sicily and Italy receiving the Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, European African Middle Eastern service medal with five Bronze Stars and the WWII Victory Medal. Retired from BJ Equipment. He was a cabinet maker and life member of D.A.V. Preceded in death by parents Joshua and Melda (Cheadle) Perry, first wife Ann Mae, sisters Bernice Evener and Marie Whitmore, brothers Clayton, Ellse, Raymond, Alford, Bundy, Buff, Forest and Cecil, daughter Carol Launderville. Survived by loving wife of 34 years Mildred, sons Chester (Diane) Dillon, Jr., Joseph Dillon and Charles Dillon, daughters Fay (Donald) Reese and Kay (Glenn) Roush, sons Clarence (Patty) Perry and Larry (Theresa) Perry, daughters Rose Johnson and Elizabeth (Roger) Sholes, 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, sister-in-laws Elosia Martin and Wilda Triplett, son-in-law Jerome Launderville, special nieces Darlene and Ellen, numerous loving relatives, friends and church family. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Chillicothe V.A Medical Center for the special care of Leslie (Dad). Family will receive friends Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026. Funeral service will be held 11 am Thursday at Hayden Baptist Church, 6729 Hayden Run Rd., Hilliard, OH 43026 with Pastor Bill Webb officiating. Interment Wesley Chapel Cemetery with military honors.
