Linda Sallett

Linda Lou Sallett, 84, mother of Allison Pond (Sallett) passed away peacefully on June 15^th, 2023.  She was born April 23^rd, 1939 in Johnstown, PA, daughter of Earl and Rachel (Slagle) Hershberger.  Preceded in death by her parents, husband, Alphonse John, siblings Shirley Ross and Jean Rigo, in laws Alphonse A and Genevieve Sallett.  Survived by daughter Allison Pond (Sallett); three grandchildren Emma, Jennifer and Sarah Pond; and sister-in-law Nancy Killen (Kevin);

Linda graduated in 1957 from Westmont-Upper Yoder in Johnstown, PA then went on to receive a Bachelor’s degree from Albright College.  She and Alphonse married in 1963 then moved to Syracuse, NY where they obtained their Masters degrees from Syracuse University after which they settled in Clinton, NY and while residing there Linda and Alphonse went on to earn their PhD’s.   Linda taught social work at Utica College and worked as a social worker through various agencies in Upstate NY with a passion for helping struggling youth and created an Aggression Reduction Program in Upstate New York.  After retiring, Linda and Alphonse moved to Central Ohio to be closer to their daughter.

Linda was a caring, compassionate, and kind woman who made friends everywhere and touched the hearts of many.  She loved to paint and write, and enjoyed art. 

Family will receive friends Saturday, July 29, 2023 from 10 am- 11 am at the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026; where a memorial service will follow at 11 am.
