Lois Nell Copley, born on June 28, 1935, to Curtis Thompson and Evangeline Crabtree Thompson in Wayne County, WV, passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2018. Member of United Methodist Church for All People. Lois worked for General Motors Fisher Body for 13 years, Owned and Managed Copley’s Market and Post Office, a retired school bus driver of 15 years for Hilliard City Schools was a former member of Hickory Hills Golf Club. She was very athletic as a young person. She played basketball in high school and later loved golf and won several tournaments into her 50’s as well as somehow managed 3 holes in one! She was ferociously proud of her “girls,” loved and enjoyed music and her family. She married Mossman “Jack” Copley on March 21, 1954, who preceded her in death on November 4, 1997. Preceded in death by daughter Jackie McKitrick (Emory), siblings Charles Thompson, Denver Thompson, Ruth Dittell, Helen Severs, Ishmal Thompson and Homer Thompson. Survived by children Brenda Darst, Lois Ann (Christopher) Ciampa, Angel (Randy) Shepherd, grandchildren Jack Ellis Weaver, Kelly Lynn (Michael) Phillips, Abigail Ciampa (Aaron Baumbusch), Jacob Ciampa (Amanda Copher), Holly Ciampa (Joe Laurent), Erin McKitrick and David (Lindsay) McKitrick, great grandchildren Jackson and Madilynn Phillips, Kendra and Alex McKitrick, Ella and Peter McGirr, sister Dotty (Wendell) Adkins, brother Roland Thompson, “special sister” Wanda Jean Boggess, son John and family, many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Friday 10-11 am at the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026; where funeral service will follow at 11 am. Interment Alton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church for All People.
