Louis "Louie" Rings

Louis E. “Louie” Rings, age 97, of Hilliard, passed away November 25, 2023.  Hilliard High School graduate Class of 1945. Army Veteran Drill Sergeant. Louis was a Supervisor for American Electric Power, after retirement he worked 31 years at hardware stores until he was the age of 90. He was an Honor Flight recipient. Preceded in death by parents Godfrey and Ruth Rings, siblings Mary Catherine Reber, Ruthella Finch, JoAnn Schatz and Godfrey Rings, Jr. Survived by loving wife Carolyn of 50 years, children David (Bonnie) Rings and Debra Rings Walters, stepchildren Ann Forrer, Marc Joost, Jane Joost and Eric (Sandy) Joost, siblings Patty Clark, Mae Etta Thiergartner and Henry (Carmen) Rings, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Tuesday, November 28, 2023 from 4pm-6pm at the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026. A funeral service will be held 11 am Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at St. John Lutheran Church, 6135 Rings Rd, Dublin, OH 43016; where family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the time of service. Interment Sunset Cemetery, Galloway, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John Memorial Fund in Louis’ name.
