Louis John Skrzynski “Lou” (73), passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2023. Lou was born in Youngstown, OH on August 2, 1950 to John and Joan (Durando) Skrzynski. He is survived by his dear wife, Joan (Zenoni) Hahn; his son, Jacob (Sarah) and stepson, Timothy (MacKenzie) Hahn; his granddaughters, Joelle and Aria; his sisters, Nancy (Andy) Lingenfelter and Jo Ellen Skrzynski; sister in law, Janet (Joe) Zemko and brother in law, John (Karen) Zenoni, along with many nieces and nephews. Lou was preceded in death by his parents and stepson, Bobby J. Hahn.
Lou graduated from Youngstown State University in 1978 with a B.S. in Education. He soon began a career in the U.S. Army, serving the USA until retirement in 2004 after 35 years. He served in Germany, Japan, Greece, Alaska and Desert Storm. He attained the rank of Supply Sergeant. After retirement, he worked in the ROTC program at Akron University. Louie enjoyed golfing, cooking and fishing. He was a loyal fan of the Cleveland Browns and The Ohio State Buckeyes, as well as the Youngstown State Penguins. He also loved vacationing in the Outer Banks of North Carolina with the Villani family and other friends.
A special thanks goes out to the Central Ohio Hospice for their exceptional help in assisting Lou in his final battles. Your service will not be forgotten.
The family will receive friends for a visitation and funeral service with military honors for Lou at Tidd Funeral Home, 5265 Norwich St. in Hilliard, OH on Saturday, December 9, 2023. The visitation will be from 12:00-2:00 PM and the funeral will follow at 2:00 PM
