Margaret Louise Addington (Wisecup)

Margaret Louise Wisecup Addington, age 81, of Hilliard, Ohio, passed away on November 5, 2023.  Born in Hershey, PA to the late Gerald and Leone (Pence) Wisecup.  

She was a 1960 graduate of Fairborn High School and following graduation went on to study at The Ohio State University where she majored in history, with a minor in education.  Out of college she taught as a first-grade teacher for two years at Columbus City Schools. Later in life she went back to school to learn accounting, ultimately becoming the Comptroller of Red Rocks Community College in Denver, CO.

Margaret served as treasurer for 14 years at St Mary’s Episcopal Church, Hillsboro and was a proud member of her community with her involvement in many different organizations such as being a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Hillsboro Women’s Club, and volunteering at Highland County Historical Society where she was later inducted into the Highland County Women’s Hall of Fame in 2017.  Margaret also had her fair share of adventure as she fell in love traveling the world first as an “army brat” and later as an adventurer of her own.

Margaret is preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Leone (Pence) Wisecup, and her cousin who was as close as a sister, Ellen (Ingmire) Mason. 

She is survived by her beloved husband, Larry Addington, her son, Gregory Addington (wife- Monique Addington), brother, Andrew Wisecup, grandchildren, Wren Dickson (Birth name Hannah Addington); Jacob Gray and Machaellah Blankenship and her cousin James Ingmire, who was like a brother to her.  

A funeral service for Margaret will be held on Sunday, November 19^th at 2pm, in the Lacy Hall of St Mary’s Episcopal Church, 234 N High St, Hillsboro, OH, 45133.
