Quillin (Gray), Margaret Ann age 74 of Plain City, Ohio formerly of Sebring, Florida, Columbus and Hilliard, Ohio joined her heavenly family on July 28, 2009. Born to Ellis Vernon and Celia Elizabeth Stewart Gray. Preceded in death by husband Walter Lemuel Quillin, parents, brothers William Raymond, Robert Vernon and Lawrence Maxwell Gray. Grandparents William Homer and Lottie Rae Ward Stewart and Harvey Ray and Bessie Evelina Grabill Gray and daughter in law Christy Brumfield Quillin. Margaret was a Mount Carmel School of Nursing graduate of 1955. She was chosen as Alumni of the year in 1997. She worked at Mount Carmel East and West Hospitals. She began her career at Alum Crest Hospital as Director of Nursing from 1956 through 1969. She then went to Mercy Hospital as a 3pm – 11 pm Supervisor. Margaret worked at Grant Hospital and Grant-Otterbein Urgent Care. Margaret retired in 2003 from Mount Carmel East and West where she worked from 1974 until her retirement. Under Sister Leo Joseph she started up the Pre-Admission Testing Unit as Continuity of Patient Care and History Coordinator. She volunteered her time to helping others such as going to Guatemala and establishing a health care clinic with the Work and Witness Team from Shepherd Nazarene Church in Gahanna, Ohio. In 1984 Margaret earned her BSN in Nursing from St. Joseph’s College in Maine. Her greatest accomplishment was the family histories she uncovered. Margaret belonged to Eastern Stars, Columbus Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution where she was Chapter Regent for 2 years and current member of Patriot’s Chapter DAR Sebring, Florida. Margaret Quillin is survived by loving daughter Carol Susan (Randall Reed) Thompson of Plain City, sons Thomas Lee and Phillip David Quillin of Columbus, daughter in law Denise E Quillin of Grove City, granddaughters Kelly Marie (Troy) Summers and Hali Marie Quillin of Columbus, grandsons Randall Scott and Shawn Stuart Thompson of Plain City and Steven Vernon (Triscia) Thompson of Whitehall, great grandchildren include Tayler, Travis and Karrie Thompson Shawn Thompson, Neil and Drew Summers, sisters Doris Gray of Cardington and Kathy Johnson of Grove City, brothers R. Allen Gray of Georgetown, TX, Paul (Annette) Gray of Parker, Colorado, Michael and George (Karen) Gray of Johnstown, OH, and numerous aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Family will receive friends 5-8 PM Friday at the TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026; where funeral service will be held 10 AM Saturday. At Margaret’s request, her brother Allen Gray will officiate service. Internment at Glen Rest Cemetery Reynoldsburg, Ohio.
