Margaret Joan Vogelpohl (Dick), after a short stay at Kobacker House, joined her loving husband, Garry, in heaven, eager to greet her. There she gazed upon the face of her God. She was born November 1924 in Metz, OH to life on a farm. Garry was a junior high school teacher and she made her life and family with him, first in Millersburg, OH, then in Chesterland, OH and finally they followed their children to Columbus, OH over 30 years ago. She was an amazing woman who led an amazing life of ferociously loving and tenderly caring for her family and friends. Nobody could outwork her. She lived as Will Rogers did, never meeting a stranger. If we had a nickel (as they saying goes) for every person who met her and told us “your Mom is a special lady”, we would be rich, but of course we were rich because of her – so the saying works! She will be missed so much by all of us. She is survived by her three children, Garry (Ruth), Nancy, and John (Donna), by her three precious granddaughters, Rachel (Mike), Rebekah (Forrest) and Nancy (Brian), and by her four great-grandchildren, Sam, Byrnn, Turner, and soon to arrive Lillian. Cremation will be followed by private family remembrances. Please no flowers but if you are moved to do so, you may contribute to the amazing Hospice program at Kobacker House.
